Update:

🧡💛Great News To Share💛🧡

We are so very happy to announce that Mr. Leo has found a forever home!! 🐾  He has a mom and dad and a big kitty sister named Sprinkles!

We are sharing some photos from Leo’s first day with us to his happy life in his new home. It’s always wonderful to save a life and find the perfect home in the end.

Leo came to us at about 3 weeks old in a shoebox. He was abandoned by his mother and left in a field. After taking him into Brenford Animal Hospital it was determined that he had a rather large hole between his tail and anus. They believe it was from fecal matter that may have dried to the hair. They think the hair was then pulled off leaving a wound for flies to lay eggs. The wound was full of maggots and he was malnourished as well as being dehydrated. Doctors cleaned his wound and needed it to heal open so it could close from the inside out, allowing any infection to drain from the opening.

After weeks of bottle feeding and constant care around the clock, little Leo’s wound closed on it’s own. He came to us weighing 5oz and before being adopted weighted  3.3lbs.

Even after such a big injury at such a young age, he has made an amazing recovery!!! 🐾
